Trail of Blades (Part 1)

A little less then 19 days ago i decided to construct a new army to play at one of my local gaming stores. After the FAQ Deathwing became a lot more viable, so i rounded up some old terminators and began my deathwing. the first game i played was not that encouraging, I played IG and the guy saw what i had and tailored his list to destroy mine thirteen+ plasma weaponry shots later and my army was pretty much done for. It was mostly a Dual-Wing list due to the models i had. That day i opted for pure Deathwing, and picked up two boxes of assault terminators here are some of the pics from the beginning.

these shots are from construction too my base coat and a little detailing. After that first game which i dubbed the Baptism of fire, the newest reincarnation of my army was much more durable and much more mind wracking to kill. Through play testing i have seen squads take turns of a whole army shooting only to have killed one or two, and they dont run which is also a plus. Some squads even go entire games unscathed. In most missions i castle up and let some units go out to mix things up. Here are some pics of my army in action.

so after a sufficient amount of play testing im am taking on the task of painting them all in time for the Feast of Blades. So ill keep u posted on the progress

1500 pt List For Colpar Hobbies

Most Saturdays I head out to lakewood to a place called Colpar Hobbies West. Due to the amount of players and limited gaming space lists are restricted to1500 points. Being that its not really a competitive atmosphere This is the Deathwing list i have chosen to take tomorrow.

HQ
 Belial

Elites
 Dreadnought
   Venerable, extra armor, lascannon

 Dreadnought
   Venerable, extra armor, lascannon

Troops
 Deathwing Terminator Squad
4 TH/SS,1 LC, Cyclone, Apoc, Standard

 Deathwing Terminator Squad
   4 TH/SS,1 LC, Cyclone

 Deathwing Terminator Squad
   4 TH/SS,1 LC, Cyclone

Heavy Support
Land Raider
   extra armor

I dont think thats too terrible to go against. I could always drop the dreads and raider for 2 more terminator squads and some change. Its a really small army but has proved sturdy in all my recent play tests. The terminators are really hard kill points to get even in a hail of fire.

Cyclone Missle Crisis

Hey everyone StEvEgUtTeRbUnS here and im gearing up for a pretty big tournament here in Denver, CO... The Feast of Blades so i had a very hard decision on what to take. 1 needs to be small for transport and for the 2 hour limit in the tournament. I wanted to take my dark eldar But its a fairly large army, being almost twenty kill points ...no good. The solution ... Well with the recent FAQ .... Deathwing Terminators. When constructing the army i quickly found i was need of Cyclone launchers being that the majority of my terminators were assault oriented. PROBLEM solved i chopped the typhoon from the land speeder then magnatized it to the backs of the terminators

Hope every one enjoys And i encourage anyone in the Denver Metro area to check out the Feast of Blades March 5, 2011

Wolves of Winter 2011

So here is my dark eldar (Dark Kroot Mercs) ready for a tourny at bonnie brae hobby shop in Engelwood, Colorado. I got decent coverage the first game as for the other two the battles were too heated for me too have time to take pics so sorry. Overall i came in 4th so it wasnt all bad

The Mission was pitched battle with modified kill points. My opponent a kid i have played a few times had a Chaos Space Marine list  Everything had the mark of Tzeezech and he got first turn

I deployed a warrior squad in cover and reserved everything else, but it screwed me mor then it helped me.

By the beginning of Turn two my warriors were wittled down severly and in need of reinforcements

Just when i needed reinforcements, I got on my wych and incubi squads in raiders but they epicly failed on shooting ( as a side note my dark lances didnt destroy a single vehicle in the entire tournament.)

Here he just wiped the warriors

The rest of my forces show up more lance fail but combat is effective killing a rhino for my first kill point.

This is pretty much the end of turn five: at the top right the wyches are pitted in combat with the defiler, Archon fails shadow field and dies to daemon prince, incubi and haemonculus kill prince in return, i killed all his troops, transports and predator and then rolled a 2 for the end game.
Kill points: Dark Eldar-9 Chaos Marines-4

In the Beginning there was.....

To anyone out there listening Im StEvEgUtTeRbUnS of PsYcHiC WaRgEaR as of right now im bored and have been wanting to start listening. The majority of what ill be posting will be about Warhammer 40k as that is what i have the most of. The 40k armies i have and enjoy playing are Eldar (dark & craftworld) Blood Angels (lamenters) and currently im on a deathwing kick sice the new FAQ came out.
